The Association of Computer/Information Sciences and Engineering Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) was founded in August 1989. It was established as a national organization dedicated to exploring and providing remedies to the educational issues in computer/information science and computer engineering that confront minority institutions of higher education.
The purpose of the organization is to serve as a forum through which faculty and students in computer and information science/computer engineering departments at minority institutions may work together to improve the quality of Computer and information science/ engineering education at minority institutions. We want to seek viable solutions to problems relevant to these fields in institutions. Our purpose is to work towards the continued development of excellence in teaching, state-of-the-art curriculum, research and equipment enhancement. We want to work for increased support in the continued professional advancement of faculty in the computer science and IT fields at minority institutions.
Our goal at ADMI is to support research initiations, serve as advocates/lobbyists for minority institutions interested in funding agency forums, both public and private. We want to better the education in computer information science/ engineering in minority schools. We believe that exchanging information and ideas for better quality education and training techniques goes a long way. We want to identify and look for good solutions to problems relevant to the disciplines. One of our goals is to continue the development of excellence teaching, state-of-the-art curriculum, research, and equipment enhancement. ADMI wants to strive for increased support and the continued professional advancement of faculty.
